[edit] Soul Calibur and Soul Edge
As the strongest character in the history of the entire Soul Calibur universe, he wields both Soul Calibur and Soul Edge (thus giving his hands a blue or red glow). He is also said to hide ten kinds of weapons within his body. Algol also has the unique ability to send out floating projectiles that can be reflected back at him, although he can bounce them back again.
[edit] Appearance
Algol's costume originates from a culture so ancient that it was not recorded in history, and the designer says it was very difficult to design it for that reason. The "bird" was decided to be the final motif of Algol's armor although there were many other ideas such as the lion and dinosaur.
Algol is seen on the opening video with brown hair and blue eyes, showing him in his living human form.
Also known as "the Hero King", Algol was able to subdue Soul Edge and, thanks to his strength of will, avoided being controlled by it. According to the legend, he used the sword to spread peace among the lands. Unfortunately, his jealous son took Soul Edge and was possessed. Algol battled him and defeated him with a mighty blow. The strike was fatal.
After his son's death, he decided to create a sword to counter the evil in Soul Edge. The legend says that, using purified shards from his battle with his son, and with the assistance of various sages, Algol was able to create Soul Calibur after many failed attempts and even sacrificing his own life. However, the ritual that claimed the king's life actually failed, and the sword that was created was extremely similar in nature to Soul Edge and imbued with Algol's soul. The tribe that was tasked with the protection of the new sword slowly turned that failure into a success and sealed the Hero King's soul, keeping his thirst for power dormant over the centuries.

[edit] Ending
With Siegfried defeated, Algol takes Soul Calibur and absorbs it in order to be 'complete.' Finally having the right powers at his disposal, Algol now feels that he is ready to rule the world for all eternity.
