Distant Marsh is a stage set in a marsh, (hence the name). There are a lot of animals in this stage including hippos, dodos and flamingos. The players fight on one side on a river while on the other side a hippo grazes. You can also see a waterfall and a small island covered with palm trees in the distance. Part of Astaroth's Soulcalibur IV ending takes place in this stage.
