Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is the sixth installment in Namco's Soul series of fighting games, exclusive to the Playstation Portable gaming console. It seems to be Soulcalibur IV designed specially for the Playstation Portable. It was officially announced on April 29, 2009. According to Namco-Bandai it will include "a roster of more than 20 unique characters, expanded character creation features, and multiple gameplay modes". It is set to be released in the summer of this year, but specific dates for each region are currently unknown.

The three Star Wars stages are presumed to be removed for obvious reasons.
On the 5th of May 2009, director of Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, Noriyuki Hiyama, confirmed that there will be day-to-night transitions in the stages, similar to Tekken 6.
