The Appprentice is a special character that appears in both platforms of Soulcalibur IV. He is much harder to beat than Algol, and can only be unlocked if you clear Story Mode as Yoda or Darth Vader. His movelist includes many Force-based abilities, like Lightning and Levitiation. He can only be encountered in Arcade Mode, on the 7th stage. He makes very small sounds when he attacks, and his entry and exit may involve Force - based acrobatics.

[edit] Soulcalibur IV
Not much is known of him, he's an apprentice of Darth Vader. His name is Galen Marek, although his codename is "Starkiller". His Father was a Jedi killed by Darth Vader.
[edit] Ending
After defeating Algol, The Apprentice looks down at the remaining fragments of Soul Edge and Soulcalibur. He returns to his master, Darth Vader, empty handed, explaining that he felt they were not needed. As punishment, Darth Vader begins to choke him with the force. Vader notices The Apprentice reaching for his lightsaber, and releases him from his grip. They duel.
